First Peter

Peter was a Galilean fisherman who became a martyr for his faith in Jesus. In his first epistle, He writes to a group of Christians scattered throughout the Roman Empire who experienced similar persecution in order to encourage them that this world is not their home. In fact, since they are exiles in this world, Peter claims that God has chosen them for another world!
